Who we are.

Veritas Solutions is an independent investigations, advisory, and training firm. We help organizations handle difficult people issues fairly, clearly, and defensibly when the consequences are real.

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, we work across Canada with a distributed, senior leadership team. This model allows us to respond quickly, reduce unnecessary cost, and apply the right expertise to each mandate without delay.

Our clients include municipalities, regulators, utilities, post‑secondary institutions, faith‑based organizations, sport bodies, and private sector employers. Many operate in unionized, politically sensitive, or highly scrutinized environments where credibility matters as much as speed.

Simply put, we help leaders deal with difficult people issues the right way.

Our work focuses on:

  • Independent workplace and regulatory investigations
  • Advisory support for high‑risk people decisions
  • Training that strengthens judgment, governance, and defensibility

We are most often engaged when internal teams lack capacity or independence, or when outcomes must withstand scrutiny from unions, regulators, boards, courts, or the public.

Veritas conducts hundreds of investigations each year across provinces and sectors, including harassment and discrimination matters, whistleblower complaints, regulatory investigations, and Safe Sport cases.

Across our history, we have completed more than 1,000 workplace investigations, many of them high‑risk, high‑profile, or politically sensitive. Our reports are relied upon by executives, councils, boards, regulators, and legal counsel to make decisions with legal, regulatory, and reputational consequences.

Our methodology is grounded in procedural fairness, credibility assessment, consistent documentation, and trauma‑informed practice. We regularly operate in environments where decisions are subject to grievance, arbitration, appeal, or public disclosure.

Our approach is shaped by a small set of repeatable principles:

  • Truth earns trust. We do not soften findings to make outcomes easier. We communicate clearly and respectfully, even when conclusions are difficult.
  • Process protects people. A fair, consistent process reduces risk for everyone involved.
  • Humanity in every interaction. Professionalism and kindness are not optional. People meet us in moments of stress and uncertainty.
  • Expertise without ego. We explain our reasoning, invite scrutiny, and stay grounded in evidence.
  • Consistency is our craft. Quality is a system, not a personality.
  • Clarity is care. Clear scope, clear communication, and clear findings reduce anxiety and risk.

These principles are embedded into every engagement, not layered on afterward.

Many organizations come to us after working with other advisors. Often the work was well intentioned, but the process did not hold up under scrutiny, took far longer than expected, or failed to deliver clarity when it mattered most.

Veritas is not a law firm, and we are not a volume investigation vendor. We do not approach people issues as litigation exercises, nor do we shortcut process in the name of speed.

Our work sits deliberately in the middle ground senior leaders actually need:

  • Independence without overreach. Investigation‑first thinking grounded in evidence, not advocacy.
  • Defensibility without unnecessary complexity. A defined, repeatable methodology that stands up to grievance, appeal, audit, or disclosure
  • Senior judgment applied directly to the work. Not delegated down a pyramid.
  • Proportionate scope, timelines, and fees. Transparent, controlled, and aligned to the actual risk.

Clients choose Veritas when they need outcomes that are fair, clear, and defensible, and when they need to be able to stand behind the process long after the file is closed.

These principles are embedded into every engagement, not layered on afterward.

Veritas Solutions’ work has been recognized by independent professional bodies for its contribution to the field of workplace investigations.

In 2025, Veritas CEO Bob Stenhouse was recognized by HR Law Canada as Workplace Investigator of the Year (Silver). The award reflects a sustained commitment to high professional standards, procedural fairness, and defensible investigation practice.

This recognition is based on professional contribution and leadership within the field. It does not relate to the outcome of any specific client matter.

The principle we leave behind

People risk is human.
Truth earns trust.
Clarity is care.
